-Auditions for young male actors to play YOUNG LOLA/SIMON in “KINKY BOOTS”
YOUNG LOLA/SIMON– African American boy who should feel about 8-10 years old. This character is Lola as a boy who’s father wants him to be a boxer, but he feels differently. Needs a higher singing voice and be comfortable walking on the stage in high heels. If listening to the opening number “ The Most Beautiful Thing in the World” Young Lola sings this part:
Feels like I’m dancing across the high wire
Or bravely soaring up into the blue
Just like a rocket looks with sparks and fire
Feels like the magic never ends inside these
Production Dates : JANUARY 10, 2020 – MARCH 22, 2020
Toby’s perform 8 shows a week, Tuesday – Sun eve at 8pm and Wed and Sun matinees at 12:30. We will cast two young actors to share the role, requiring each actor to perform 4 times per week.
Rehearsals are currently underway, being held on Monday nights and Saturday mornings
Rehearsals: Actor will be called to only a few rehearsals, as Young Lola is in the first scene only.
Performances: Actor will arrive at half hour and be able to leave after the first scene is finished.

Part time work is available. Applicants should be detail oriented, assertive and patient. You will be responsible for greeting and seating groups of 15 or more people visiting the theatre. This can include large student groups, senior citizen groups, tour and travel groups, church groups, etc. The group hosts greet the groups as they arrive, gives the welcome speech and explains to the group what they can expect during the evening and then escorting them to their assigned tables. Group hosts are also responsible for gathering information the emcee will need and filling out the group paperwork each evening.
