TOBY’S DINNER THEATRE – AUDITIONS for 2019

Toby’s Dinner Theater is holding non-equity, open call auditions for the following 2019 productions: Gypsy, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Grease and The Bodyguard.  Auditions are being held at Toby’s Dinner Theatre, 5900 Symphony Woods Rd, Columbia, MD 21044.  Please read the entire audition notice below.

AUDITION DATES:

Thursday, September 6th from 11am – 3:00pm for FEMALE performers

Friday, September 7th from 11am – 2:30pm for MALE  performers

You must sign in by 12 noon.

CHILD ACTORS  will be seen at another time TBD

Please bring a headshot/resume and your best 16 bars in the correct key. Have a contrasting selection prepared as well.  You may be asked to read and move/dance.

GYPSY runs 1/17/19 – 3/17/19

At this call, specifically seeking talent for: Rose, Louise, Dainty June and Tulsa

THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME runs 3/21/19 – 5/19/19

GREASE runs 5/22/19 – 7/28/19

THE BODYGUARD runs 9/13 – 11/3

At this call, specifically seeking talent for Rachel Marron (must be able to sing the Whitney Houston catalogue)

PERFORMANCES: Toby’s is an 8 show week schedule

Tuesday  – Sunday evenings with 12:30 matinees on Wednesdays and Sundays.

REHEARSALS are held apprx. 10 weeks prior to opening on:

Mondays from 4pm – 10:30pm

Occasional Tuesdays from 4pm – 10:30pm

Saturdays from 10am – 3pm.

PLEASE REVIEW THE RUN DATES LISTED ABOVE: You will need to list any potential conflicts on the audition sheet. Toby’s is looking for people who can commit to the entire run and rehearsal process.

If you are unable to perform in all of the Wednesday and Sunday matinees – do not attend this audition.

If you are not available to rehearse on Monday evenings or Saturdays  – do not attend this audition

All roles are open and paid. Travel and housing are not provided

Toby’s Dinner Theatre is now staffing the following positions:

Kitchen Staff

Full time and part time work available. Looking for cooks, bussers, dishwashers, salad and dessert prep. Applicants should have the ability to work well with others, follow directions, work calmly and safely in tight quarters and have a respectful attitude. Hosts

Part time work is available for Hosts and Hostesses. Applicants should be detail oriented, assertive, have patience and be comfortable to welcome and seat  large groups of people in an efficient and respectful manner. Duties include greeting and seating guests, making sure the guests tables are set up correctly, coffee and water service if needed and assist house managers with any customer needs that may arise.

Box Office Staff

Part time work is available in the Toby’s Box Office. Weekends & daytime shifts are available. Applicant should be detailed oriented, have a good customer service attitude and patience. Duties include: answering phones, taking reservations, providing theatre information and directions, filing reservations, and checking in guests upon arrival with courtesy.
